Are We Really Eating Food?

Walk through any grocery store and you'll find thousands of products marketed as food—but how much of it is actually nourishing your body? Over the past several decades, ultra-processed foods, artificial ingredients, preservatives, food dyes, and genetically modified ingredients have become a normal part of our daily diet. They may be convenient, but convenience doesn't always equal health.

Your body was designed to run on real food. Every cell depends on vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, proteins, and antioxidants to produce energy, regulate the immune system, and repair itself. When those nutrients are replaced with highly processed, food-like substances, the body can begin to struggle, setting the stage for inflammation, metabolic dysfunction, and chronic disease.

In this week's episode of Living Sicker. Aging Faster. Dying Younger., Dr. Christopher Thoma explores how our food supply has changed, why it matters, and what you can do to start making healthier choices. Sometimes the biggest step toward better health isn't eating less—it's eating real food.
